Interesting post. Obesity beginning even in early childhood will carry through the life span and it may also lead to Type II diabetes, mellitus, risk of coronary heart disease,etc. Early and appropriate steps will help in preventing it from becoming morbid or life threatening. This is a very helpful article. I have an eleven year old cousin entering junior high school who is very overweight. I worry she will be picked on. I hope she either gets taller or her parents can put her on a healthy diet.
